(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)
Anxious to resume touring, Hunter Hayes will get a chance to exercise his musical chops during a performance for MTV's Artist to Watch series to be live streamed Tuesday (June 18) at 6 p.m. on MTV.com and CMT.com. Ashley Monroe and Nashville-based duo Striking Matches will be featured on the show at Webster Hall in New York City.
Hayes says he is "so ready" to get back on the road, and I'll bet the fans feel the same way about him headlining a show. In his brand new For the Love of Music webisode -- titled "On the Road Again" -- he's saying so long to Nashville as he gets ready to spend his summer on the fair and festival circuit that country stars do so well. "Nashville is awesome, and I loved getting to go into the studio and do my thing. I love Nashville. I love the studio thing. But I live to go on the road and make music," Hayes says. "All the writing feeds getting in a bus and doing what I love. I'm so ready."
After his summer tour closes, and he maybe takes a day off, Hayes and opener Ashley Monroe will hit the road again across America for the fall CMT on Tour. "So long, Nashville," he says. "See ya soon."
