There's a country song somewhere in this story about Blake Shelton finding a life-lessons letter from his dad about 20 years after he'd sent it. He talks about it in the August issue of Men's Journal, and it's just so sweet, Shelton needs to write a song about it. According to the magazine, Shelton moved to Nashville right after high school graduation. A few weeks after he arrived in Tennessee, his dad sent him a five-page letter about entering the world. "I didn't want to hear it. I was 17. I didn't want to be told what to do," Shelton said. So he didn't read it and lost track of the letter for two decades. But after his dad died last year, Shelton found the long lost letter when he was going through some of his old things. He said most of it was practical advice. "But there was also a lot ... about how to treat people, how to get respect, how to look people in the eye and how to shake their hand -- basically, how to be a man in the world," Shelton said. "It was like I was having a conversation with him I never had."
