Brad Paisley can get away with it. That's how he explained his ability to combine his singing voice with his comedic voice.
"I get away with things some people don't," he said when he was on The Sean Hannity Show. "I've always found some way to make these little snarky comments and then host an award show and goof around up there and roast people."
That award show he mentioned is the CMA Awards, which Paisley has humorously hosted with Carrie Underwood for the last five years, and just announced they will co-host again in November 2013.
"Early on, they sort of let me spread my wings and be that guy and I'm very, very comfortable in that role," Paisley told Hannity. "I like not taking myself seriously or anything that seriously honestly." Which is probably why he always comes off as so seriously funny.
