Brad Paisley Gets $2.5 Million for Pacific Palisades Home

You can tell how nice Brad Paisley's old Malibu neighborhood must've been by the tax bill alone. In 2012, the taxes on his Pacific Palisades home were more than $23,000. Maybe that's why he sold it. Or maybe he and his wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley and their little boys -- Huck, 6, and Jasper, 4 -- were just kind of done with California and ready to call Tennessee their forever home.

But still. I don't know how the Paisleys were able to part with this charming home in California. (Well, maybe Paisley could give $2.5 million reasons, according to the sale price cited by the Los Angeles Times.) It is gorgeous, inside and out. The home -- at 15309 Earlham Street -- has 3,394 square feet of features I hope I can find in a house someday. Like a master bedroom with a private deck that boasts stunning ocean views and a statement-making red dining room. It also has a detached garage with a bonus room, which might have been where Paisley wrote songs, making it more like a bonus bonus room. And a two-story living room with stained glass windows.

The house was built in 1925, but somewhere along the way it had been lovingly restored and completely updated. It has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a gigantic gourmet all-white kitchen with charming yellow tile backsplash and a darling backyard with a lawn, trellis and citrus trees.

I don't know who bought the place over the weekend, but I hope they are Paisley fans or fans of his wife's hit show, Nashville. Maybe people who have $2.8 million to spend on homes don't care about the celebs who came before them, but I think it would be cool to live where a little bit of country music has been made.
