Charles Kelley jammed to Prince. Scotty McCreery sang Florida Georgia Line's "Stay." And Jason Mraz had some old Kenny Rogers on.

When the artists walked down the red carpet Wednesday night (Nov. 6) before the CMA Awards, I asked them all what they'd been listening to on their way to the show. Here are some of the highlights:

Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley: "Oh, man. We had a little Prince, and then that was followed up by a little Jackson 5. The Prince album was a greatest hits one with that one song 'I Wanna Be Your Lover.'"

Lady Antebellum's Dave Haywood: "And a little Charlie Worsham at first."

Scotty McCreery: "Our driver didn't have anything on the radio, but you know what I did? I was singing that 'Stay' song, the new one from Florida Georgia Line. I do not sound like Florida Georgia Line at all, so mine sounded a little different, but I love that song."

Jason Mraz: "We listened to Kenny Rogers on the way over here. His 'Love Will Turn You Around.' It's so good. No one in the van remembered that song. But Kenny had starred in this old movie, Six Pack, and that song was featured in it."

Nashville's Chaley Rose (Zoey): "I was listening to this band Half Moon Run. I Shazamed the song that was playing during my love scene with Gunnar. It's a beautiful song, so I bought the whole album." (The song is "Need It," and the album is Dark Eyes.)

Thomas Rhett : "My record. It just came out, so I have to listen to it. 'Call Me Up' is my favorite song on the album."

Will Hoge: "Classic country on XM, so we heard Hank Snow and Loretta Lynn. It was pretty country all the way over here."

Brandy Clark: "I just listened to my mom talk. She was saying how cool it was that we were coming here and that we were in a Rolls-Royce."

Cassadee Pope: "I didn't listen to anything because I really just needed to collect my thoughts. I've never been to the CMAs, so I was just basking in the awesomeness and thinking about where I was a year ago."
