After being honored with the prestigious Pinnacle Award at last week's CMA Awards, Taylor Swift went backstage and told reporters that the way it was presented to her was the nicest thing anyone has ever done for her. But then Swift brought up her fans and all the nice things they've done for her.
"When I think about my fans as a group, I just think of the little things," she said. "I think about the letters that I get from classrooms. And I think about the videos my mom sends me of some little girl opening up her Christmas present, and it's tickets to my show and she freaks out. I think about videos of young girls playing songs on guitar they just learned."
It sounds like Swift appreciates those little things fans do so much, she has even taken to spying on them occasionally.
"It sounds creepy, but I will watch people leave the shows and I'll look at their signs. I'll look at the shirts that they made. Or sometimes I'll go and I'll, like, stalk my fans' Twitter pages," Swift said, reiterating that it sounded creepy but it's not.
She's just proud that her fans don't have a reputation for being rude or aggressive.
"My fans are always nice to other fans, and they're always nice to each other and they don't really say hateful things," she said.
I have a feeling Swift is the main reason her fans are such good people. She has always been good to them, and nice begets nice.
