Will 100 Hunter Hayes Songs Break a Record?

Hunter Hayes is out to break the Oklahoma rockers Flaming Lips' Guinness World Records record. They once played eight shows across the Mississippi Delta in 24 hours in 2012. So what Hayes is going to do is play 10 shows -- in 10 different cities -- in 24 hours. Oh, and he's going to try to put an end to childhood hunger, too.

It's one of those win-win situations. I'd say that really the only one who's going to have it hard that day is Hayes himself.

He will start this 24-Hour Road Race to End Child Hunger on May 9 with a performance on Good Morning America. From there, he will get in a Mercedes Benz and race around Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The race will end with Hayes' last performance -- scheduled for 5 a.m. the next day (May 10) -- in Philadelphia.

If my math is correct and Hayes plays an average of 10 songs at each stop, give or take a few, that means he'll be playing 100 songs in a day. That's a remarkable feat and knowing Hayes' seemingly nonstop supply of energy, there's not a doubt in my mind he will make fans at the last stop feel just as important as the fans at the first stop.

Tickets to the mostly all-ages shows are on the low end (around $10-15), but Hayes will be raising more than just awareness and the cost of the tickets. At each show, he will auction off the Martin OM-42 he just played to add to his donation to the cause.

Hayes' second studio album, Storyline, will be released during that same week.
