LeAnn Rimes will host the 36th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, May 9 on CBS. Show
producer Rac Clark, of dick clark productions, told country.com Tuesday (April 3) that Rimes is a natural choice for the job.
"She'll bring a lot of people to our TV show that maybe normally wouldn't tune in to watch," Clark said. "She'll appeal
to a broader audience, and that's our job -- to bring as many people to the show as possible."
Rimes is no stranger
to the ACM stage. She was named New Female Vocalist for 1996 and took home Single of the Year honors for her breakout hit
"Blue." She also shared the Song of the Year Award for "Blue" with songwriter Bill Mack.
