Apparently confident that neither he nor Kenny Chesney will be serving time in jail
anytime soon, Tim McGraw on Wednesday (May 16) announced dates for his 2001 tour, to
be called "Tim McGraw on Tour."
On June 20, just days after Country Music Fan Fair ends in Nashville, McGraw
will kick off his summer circuit with a concert at Journal Pavilion in Albuquerque, N.M. Tickets for the concert go on sale
Saturday (May 19), though tickets in some other markets have gone on sale already, a spokeswoman for McGraw says.
With
Chesney and Mark Collie as support acts, McGraw will play 41 dates including a July
4 concert at Fiddler's Green in Denver and a tour-closing Aug. 25 concert at AmSouth Amphitheatre in Nashville.
McGraw's
new album, Set This Circus Down, has stayed atop Billboard's country album chart for the three weeks since its
release on April 24. The first single, "Grown Men Don't Cry," is at No. 2 on Billboard's country singles chart.
McGraw's Soul 2 Soul tour with wife Faith Hill was the top-grossing country tour of
2000.
