Bone Thugs-N-Harmony are in discord again.
The Cleveland hip-hop group, which reunited at the beginning of the year
to record a new album, ousted Bizzy Bone last week after he walked off the stage during a performance, according to a group
spokesperson.
Bizzy reportedly took the stage intoxicated for the first night of Bone Thugs' headlining stint on the
Grey Goose Tour at B.B. King's Blues Club & Grill in New York's Times Square on September 17.
"Bizzy Bone was dividing
his time between a microphone and a flask, and as the concert progressed, he paid less and less attention to the microphone,"
New York Times writer Kelefa Sanneh explained in a review of the show. "He slumped over on the side of the stage and
then, right before 'Notorious Thugs,' he staggered off."
After the show, Layzie Bone told the paper the group had been
having trouble with Bizzy and that he would no longer be a part of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. "You saw him, all drunk and passed
out," Layzie said. "He didn't even make it through the show."
The Grey Goose Tour, which also features Eightball and
MJG as well as Lil' Jon and the Eastside Boyz, has gone on without Bizzy, according to the spokesperson.
This is not
the first time Bizzy has had issues with Bone Thugs, who have been plagued with legal and personal hurdles since forming in
1994. When their last album, BTNHResurrection, was released in 2000, he refused to promote it because of a financial
dispute with their record label, Ruthless (see "Bizzy Bone Has A Gift For Negotiation").
Bizzy
has released two albums outside of the group, including The Gift in March 2001.
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony are touring
to promote Thug World Order, due October 29. The album features the current single "Get up and Get It," a collaboration
with 3LW (see "Bone Thugs Favor Phil Collins Over 3LW For New Video").
The
group plays Detroit on Thursday (September 26) and their hometown on Friday.
