It's Keith Urban week on the country charts, thanks to a new album containing a single
that tops Billboard's Hot Country Singles & Tracks for a second consecutive week. Meanwhile, Elvis
Presley shows his staying power on the albums chart while Shania Twain continues
to rocket up the country singles chart.
Urban's "Somebody Like You" stays at No. 1 during the same week his second
solo album, Golden Road, debuts at No. 3 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart. On the all-encompassing Billboard
200, Golden Road also arrives at No. 11 to put it behind only Bon Jovi's Bounce and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers'
The Last DJ as the highest-debuting album of the week. With a No. 2 debut the Billboard 200, Bon Jovi was unable to
oust Presley's ELV1S: 30 #1 Hits from the top position. The Presley title also remains at No. 1 on the country albums
chart.
On the country singles chart, nothing changes in the top three, with "Somebody Like You" followed by Diamond Rio's "Beautiful Mess" and Martina McBride's "Where Would
You Be." Climbing one slot each are Alan Jackson's "Work in Progress" (to No. 4) and
Phil Vassar's "American Child" (to No. 5). Montgomery
Gentry's "My Town" climbs two positions to No. 6, with Joe Nichols' "The Impossible" dropping three spots to No. 7.
Moving upward one slot each are the Dixie Chicks' "Landslide" (to No. 8) and Rascal Flatts "These Days" to No. 9. Following a lengthy ride on the chart, Tracy Byrd's latest No. 1, "Ten Rounds With Jose Cuervo," is finally on its way out, dropping from No.
7 to No. 10.
Twain's "I'm Gonna Getcha Good!" gets the week's Airpower designation by leaping to No. 15 on the country
singles chart after debuting last week at No. 24. Mark Chesnutt's "I Want My Baby Back"
landed at No. 53 to become the highest-debuting single of the week. Other debuts include Deana
Carter's "There's No Limit" (No. 54) and American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson's "A Moment Like This" (No. 58).
Lee Ann Womack's "Forever Everyday," a track from her Something Worth Leaving Behind
album, checks in at No. 59.
On the country albums chart, Presley's domination at No. 1 holds the Dixie Chicks' Home
to No. 2 for the third straight week. With Urban debuting at No. 3, Toby Keith's Unleashed
remains at No. 4, LeAnn Rimes' Twisted Angel goes from No. 5 to No. 3 and Kenny Chesney's No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems slips one notch to No. 6. Remaining
at No. 7 and No. 8, respectively, are the O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack and Martina McBride's Greatest Hits.
Travis Tritt's Strong Enough falls to No. 9 from No. 6 and Alan Jackson's Drive
spends a second week at No. 10.
Other new entries to the country albums chart include John
Michael Montgomery's Pictures (No. 13), Pinmonkey's self-titled debut
(No. 17) and Brooks & Dunn's new holiday collection, It Won't Be Christmas Without
You (No. 40).
