When the invitations were issued, Mark Wills assumed that Wednesday's (Feb. 5) party would celebrate a five-week reign at the top of the Billboard country singles chart for his latest hit, "19 Somethin'." By the time the party rolled around, Wills and songwriters David Lee and Chris DuBois were celebrating a six-week No. 1.

"19 Somethin'" has revived Wills' career while also making chart history. The title racked up 6,317 plays on radio during a recent seven-day period to make it the most played country song for a single week in the 13-year history of Broadcast Data Systems, a company that tracks airplay throughout the U.S.

Lee and DuBois wrote the song after reminiscing about random moments of their childhood. Among their lyrics is the line, "I was Roger Staubach in my back yard." During the party, Wills and the two songwriters were presented footballs autographed by the Pro Football Hall of Fame member.

The party on Nashville's Music Row was hosted by sponsored by performing rights organizations ASCAP and BMI, along with publishers BMG Music and EMI Music.
