Country artists Brad Paisley, The Wilkinsons, Chalee Tennison, The Derailers and Claire Lynch recently traveled to Kumamoto, Japan, to play the world famous Country Gold Festival. The event is hosted by Charlie Nagatani, a longtime country music fan and supporter who has invited some of Nashville's biggest names to play his native country. In its 12-year history, the show has introduced Diamond Rio, Chely Wright, Jo Dee Messina, Sam Bush, Asleep at the Wheel, Bryan White and countless other stars to a Japanese audience.
The festival itself takes place in an outdoor venue in the shadow of Mt. Aso, a huge, active
volcano. But before the concert started, the artists on the bill were treated to a few days of sightseeing and Japanese cuisine.
Brad, Chalee, The Derailers and The Wilkinsons served as special correspondents for country.com, taking photos and keeping
a diary of their experiences. Here you can catch an exclusive look at a trip of a lifetime through their eyes.
