Five-time CMA nominee Lee Ann Womack made a nerve-wracking discovery at Sunday's CMA Awards rehearsals in Nashville. As she
ran through her nominated hit, "I Hope You Dance," she realized her designer dress might not work with the set the producers
created for her. "I'm a little concerned about that now that I see the set," Womack told country.com. "I went to New York,
and thankfully we picked up several outfits to work with, so we may have to go back to the drawing board."
Fellow
female vocalist nominee Jo Dee Messina was having jitters of her own during the run-through of her new single "Burn." Dressed
casually in jeans and a tank top, Messina gave an emotional performance flanked by rows and rows of flaming candles. "The
whole time I was up there I was thinking, 'Breathe in, breathe out,'" the singer joked. "I think I blacked out for a minute
during the song."
Despite their nervousness, both singers are looking forward to their moments in the spotlight during
the annual awards show, to be broadcast live from Nashville Wednesday (Oct. 4) night on CBS.
