Dixie Chicks' lead singer and resident fireball Natalie Maines took an interesting side-trip after a sold-out gig in Las Vegas Fri., June 23. Just after midnight Saturday, Maines and her actor boyfriend, Adrian Pasdar, made it official at A Little White Wedding Chapel on the Vegas strip. The chapel has hosted numerous celebrity weddings, including those of Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Michael Jordan and Bruce Willis.
The couple reportedly sprang for the economy, $55 ceremony with only a photographer and security guard as witnesses. A spokeswoman says the bride wore a vintage Giorgio di Saint Angelo gown, replete with champagne-colored Austrian crystals. The groom wore a steel gray Prada suit.
After the low-key wedding, Maines and Pasdar bought matching chapel T-shirts, sporting purple hearts, before joining fellow Chicks Martie Seidel and Emily Robison for a night of gambling. The newlyweds won $740.
Maines met Pasdar at the 1999 wedding of bandmate Emily Erwin and Charlie Robison. The actor is shooting the upcoming NBC series Mysterious Ways. Pasdar also had a bit part as a police officer in the music video for "Goodbye Earl." The Chicks, meanwhile, are in the midst of their first headlining tour. Their shows have been selling out in every market they've played so far, including Los Angeles, where a second sold-out date was added. The Chicks' debut album, Wide Open Spaces, has sold nearly 10 million copies, and the follow-up, Fly, is approaching six million.
