The game show Wheel of Fortune plans to come to Music City late this year to tape several episodes with country music stars. Nashville's WKRN-TV (Channel 2), which carries the syndicated show, is currently lining up potential guests.

The Wheel of Fortune crew, headed by Pat Sajak and Vanna White, is expected to be taping in Nashville for a week to 10 days. It will mark the first time the show has visited the city.

Michelle Dube, program director at Channel 2, is coordinating the event. "We don't have a date set up," she says. "It's probably not going to happen until the fall. I'm just talking to the celebrities, and I can't really release any names yet. The official invitations haven't gone out. The Wheel of Fortune people will be sending them out."

Dube adds that she should be able to announce who the star guests will be "within the next month or two."

In a letter sent to recruit country celebrities, Dube says that more than 15 million Americans watch Wheel of Fortune each day. Including its 54 overseas markets, she notes, the show reaches 100 million viewers a week.
