The Academy of Country Music revealed a lot of Faith on Monday as the organization announced the final ballot for its 34th
annual ACM Awards.
Faith Hill, leading the pack of nominees, picked up a half-dozen nods, with citations for Top Female
Vocalist, Album of the Year, Single Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Country Video of the Year and Top Vocal Event of
the Year. The singer picked up additional recognition in some of those same categories for her work as producer.
Jo
Dee Messina, who nabbed three nominations, announced the nominees with Kenny Chesney from Universal Studios Hollywood.
The
winners will be announced during ceremonies at the Universal Amphitheatre in Southern California. The Academy of Country
Music Awards, produced by dick clark productions, will air as a prime time special on the CBS Television Network on Wednesday,
May 5. This year's gala event will again feature performances from a host of country music's brightest stars. Portions of
the three-hour telecast, featuring performances by newcomer nominees, will emanate from Universal Studios Escape in Orlando,
Florida.
Garth Brooks, Steve Wariner and Brooks & Dunn each followed Hill with four nominations. The Dixie Chicks,
Martina McBride, Tim McGraw, George Strait, Shania Twain and The Wilkinsons joined Messina with three nods apiece. Vince Gill,
Sawyer Brown and Mark Wills were each recognized in two fields. More than 20 other artists received single bids.
