Terri Clark's star is continuing to rise in the wake of the recent release of Terri's third Mercury Nashville album, How I Feel. Already, that record has spawned a number one song in "Now That I Found You," and the video for that song has gone to the top of the CMT Top 12 Countdown. The album reflects an evolution of Terri's life and music and offers listeners a mellower, more mature Terri.
"There's been a lot going on in my life the past three years," Clark shares. "I went through a tough divorce after being with the same guy since I was 18; I went from anonymity to seeing my name in magazines and people chasing me down for autographs; coupled with running a corporation (a band, road crew, support staff, etc.) and having to hire and fire people I care about. A lot has happened to me in a short amount of time. It forced me to grow up and take a really hard look at myself. There's a lot of self-discovery and self-acceptance on this album...and it reflects a lot of what I've been going through inside. I took away all those walls that people try to put around me...I stepped out of all of them and just did the songs I really like. And of course it's country. I don't think I could sing anything else that would come out sounding like anything else."
