Country music artists will be working the late shift to join fans in welcoming the new year. In addition to Toby Keith's concert in Nashville, one of the biggest shows Wednesday (Dec. 31) takes place at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Ky. Playing to a hometown crowd, Montgomery Gentry will headline the concert also featuring the Charlie Daniels Band, Phil Vassar and Dierks Bentley.
Keith will share the stage with Willie Nelson and Blake Shelton for his show at the Gaylord Entertainment Center. Plenty of other entertainment options await country fans in downtown Nashville. The Del McCoury Band and Leftover Salmon will be ringing in the new year at the Ryman Auditorium. Trick Pony returns to its old stomping ground, the Wildhorse Saloon, and Ronnie McDowell will be on Lower Broadway at the new Harley-Holt Theater. With Ronnie Milsap entertaining at The Trap, the Nashville Nightlife Theater will feature Kitty Wells, Johnnie Wright and Tommy Cash.
Texans will flock to Dallas to see Chris Cagle at Cowboys Red River and Johnny Lee at Gilley's. In Fort Worth, native Texan Mark Chesnutt leads the party crowd at Billy Bob's Texas.
Joe Nichols performs at Cowboy's Concert Hall in Atlanta, and Sawyer Brown will rule the stage at Sea World of Florida in Orlando.
And in Bakersfield, Calif., Brad Paisley spends another New Year's Eve honoring his musical hero -- Buck Owens -- at the Country Music Hall of Fame member's Crystal Palace club and restaurant.
