Live was named best bluegrass album. "Cluck Old Hen," a track from the album, was named best country instrumental performance. Krauss and James Taylor shared the best country collaboration with vocals award for "How's the World Treating You." The duet is featured on the Louvin Brothers tribute -- which won best country album honors. However, only the album's producer is awarded with the Grammy, according to a publicist for Universal South Records.
With the exception of best female country vocal performance, all country awards were presented prior to the televised portion of the 46th annual Grammy Awards show.
In pre-show presentations, John Carter Cash accepted the award for best short form music video for his father Johnny Cash's "Hurt." Best traditional folk album award went to June Carter Cash's Wildwood Flower. In accepting, her son and album producer John Carter Cash said it was her swan song, "so I'm very happy about this." Best contemporary folk album honors went -- predictably -- to the late Warren Zevon.
Randy Travis won best southern, country or bluegrass gospel album for Rise and Shine. He was not present to accept.
