When it comes to first-week sales figures, the tally for Gary Allan's Tough All Over is the best he's ever had -- with
99,662 copies sold. As a result, the dark but melodic album enters Billboard's country sales chart at No. 1 and the
all-genre Billboard 200 at No. 3.
Allan learned of the news while touring Australia. "I poured my soul into
Tough All Over," he said. "I have always spoken through my music, and I am very grateful that what I have to say continues
to connect with the fans." New albums from Alicia Keys and Nickelback prevented Allan from hitting No. 1 on the Billboard
200.
Gretchen Wilson's All Jacked Up continues to sell well in its third week, spending its second week
at No. 2. Sara Evans' Real Fine Place falls from No. 1 to No. 3. She's trailed by Faith Hill's Fireflies, Rascal
Flatts' Feels Like Today, Keith Urban's Be Here and Sugarland's Twice the Speed of Life, at fourth through
seventh place, respectively. Chris Cagle's Anywhere but Here drops from No. 4 to No. 8. Dolly Parton's Those Were
the Days arrives at No. 9, and Brad Paisley's Time Well Wasted re-enters the Top 10 at No. 10.
On Billboard's
country singles chart, Urban remains at No. 1 for a second week with "Better Life." Craig Morgan catches a wave to No. 2 with
"Redneck Yacht Club," and Jamie O'Neal forges ahead to No. 3 with "Somebody's Hero." Montgomery Gentry dip to No. 4 with "Something
to Be Proud Of," a former No. 1. Josh Gracin's "Stay With Me (Brass Bed)" stays at No. 5, followed by Rascal Flatts' "Skin
(Sarabeth)," LeAnn Rimes' "Probably Wouldn't Be This Way" and Kenny Chesney's "Who You'd Be Today." New to the Top 10 are
Lonestar's "You're Like Comin' Home" at No. 9 and Dierks Bentley's "Come a Little Closer" at No. 10.
Only two new songs
debut this week: Hot Apple Pie's "We're Makin' Up" at No. 58 and Hanna-McEuen's "Tell Me" at No. 59.
