Tim McGraw
It may also bring a grin to McGraw's bearded face to see that his old horse-heisting co-defendant, Kenny Chesney (remember that caper?), holds the No. 1 spot on the songs chart for the second week via his recording (with the Wailers) of "Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven."
Better still, there's a lot of new music to report: six first-time albums and nine fresh songs.
Coming onto the albums chart at No. 7 is Dan Evans' freshman effort, Goin' All Out. You may remember Evans as a contestant on The Biggest Loser: Couples TV series. Other newcomers are George Strait's Classic Christmas (No. 46), Big & Rich's Big & Rich's Super Galactic Fan Pak 2 (No. 54), the soundtrack to the Billy Graham biopic, Billy: The Early Years (No. 70) and the collective McGraw's Limited Edition: Greatest Hits: Volumes 1, 2 & 3 (No. 72).
This week's highest-debuting song is Brooks & Dunn's "Cowgirls Don't Cry," rolling in at No. 40. Then there's Gary Allan's "She's So California" (No. 45), Julianne Hough's "My Hallelujah Song" (No. 51), Jimmy Wayne's "I Will" (No. 52), the Lost Trailers' "How 'Bout You Don't" (No. 54), Chesney's "Ten With a Two" (No. 56), Keith Anderson's "Somebody Needs a Hug" (No. 57), the Randy Rogers Band's "In My Arms Instead" (No. 58) and Sara Evans' "Low" (No. 59).
Chesney's "Got a Little Crazy" returns to the songs chart at No. 60.
Following McGraw, in order, within the Top 5 albums are Sugarland's Love on the Inside, Darius Rucker's Learn to Live, Kellie Pickler (last week's No. 1) and Taylor Swift (still in the Top 5 after 103 weeks).
Songs No. 2 through No. 5 are Toby Keith's "She Never Cried in Front of Me," Carrie Underwood's "Just a Dream," Rucker's "Don't Think I Don't Think About It" and Kid Rock's "All Summer Long."
This is your season to keep the music industry alive. Please buy voraciously and indiscriminately.
