Footloose Soundtrack Among New Releases
Will Hoge, Sonia Leigh Also Offer New Albums

Blake Shelton, Zac Brown, Big & Rich and Gretchen Wilson are asking country fans to kick off their Sunday shoes on a new version of the Footloose soundtrack, which is tied to an upcoming remake of the classic film. The compilation project was released Tuesday (Sept. 27) by Atlantic Records and Warner Music Nashville.

Shelton tackles the upbeat title track, while Brown gives his rendition of "Where the River Goes." Meanwhile, Big & Rich and Wilson team up for their latest single, "Fake I.D." In addition, newcomer Hunter Hayes joins Victoria Justice on "Almost Paradise." Other artists on the project include Cee Lo Green featuring Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Lissie, the Smashing Pumpkins, David Banner, Ella Mae Bowen, Whitney Duncan, Jana Kramer and a Thousand Horses.

In other new releases, Nashville roots-rocker Will Hoge's album, Number Seven includes "When I Get My Wings." In addition, Sonia Leigh's 1978 December features "My Name Is Money." Both videos are in rotation on CMT.

Other singer-songwriters with new releases include Alessi's Ark's Time Travel, Pieta Brown's Mercury, Nikki Lane's Walk of Shame, Mariah McManus' Nice to Meet You, Hannah Miller's O Black River and Sarah Siskind's Novel. Caitlin Rose's Own Side Now has also been reissued on ATO Records.

New bluegrass releases include Bearfoot's American Story, the Del McCoury Band's Old Memories: The Songs of Bill Monroe and Junior Sisk & Ramblers Choice's The Heart of a Song.

Reissues include Buck Owens' Bound for Bakersfield 1953-1956, which compiles his earliest recordings. In addition, Elvis Presley's Young Man With a Big Beat is a five-disc set that captures his breakthrough year, 1956. And for alt-country fans, The V-Roys' Sooner or Later is their first-ever career compilation.
