CMT is joining forces with Ryan Seacrest Productions on a new reality series starring TV personality Melissa Rycroft and her husband Tye Strickland. The eight-episode series, which has the working title Melissa and Tye: A New Reality, will premiere in April.
Rycroft has appeared on Dancing With the Stars and The Bachelor, as well as CMT's Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders: Making the Team. Her broadcasting credits also include Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve (where she co-hosted with Seacrest) and Good Morning America.
After appearing on The Bachelor, Rycroft became a popular contestant on Dancing With the Stars, which ignited a TV hosting career. Yet her greatest success came when she reconnected with the "real" man of her dreams, hometown boyfriend Tye Strickland.
Now married with an 11-month-old daughter, Rycroft is moving from Texas to Los Angeles to pursue her Hollywood dreams. Melissa and Tye: A New Reality will follow the couple as they navigate the trials and tribulations of being new parents, making a long-distance relationship work and making their dreams become a reality.
