Emotional Traffic, Tim McGraw's long-delayed album that Curb Records argued in court wasn't up to par, debuts resoundingly this week at No. 1. Nielsen SoundScan reports it has sold 67,530 copies.

Scooting in at No. 2 is Kellie Pickler's 100 Proof, which racked up a first-week sales total of 27,448 copies.

There's also a new No. 1 song -- Chris Young's "You." It topples last week's chart-topper, Luke Bryan's "I Don't Want This Night to End."

As recently as Nov. 30 -- the day a Nashville court ruled that McGraw had fulfilled his recording contract with Curb -- the label's lawyer maintained the singer had delivered the album so early as to render it out of date and, further, that it was impaired by not containing enough potential singles.

The only other new album is the various artists package NOW That's What I Call Country Ballads (No. 16).

Returning at No. 61 is Michael Wasoell's Bone Collector's The Brotherhood Album, featuring Rhett Akins and Dallas Davidson.

Four songs make their first chart appearance: Canaan Smith's "We Got Us" (No. 53), Phil Vassar's "Don't Miss Your Life" (No. 57), the Josh Abbott Band's "Touch" (No. 58) and Thompson Square's "Glass" (No. 60).

Steve Holy's "Until the Rain Stops" re-enters at No. 59.

Rounding out the Top 5 albums, in descending order, are Bryan's Tailgates & Tanlines, Lady Antebellum's Own the Night and Jason Aldean's My Kinda Party.

Last week's No. 1 album, Toby Keith's Clancy's Tavern, now resides at No. 6.

The No. 3 through No. 5 songs are The Band Perry's "All Your Life," Eric Church's "Drink in My Hand" and Keith Urban's "You Gonna Fly."

It appears that hard times have hit the songwriting community. We count 10 songs on this week's chart -- that's one-sixth -- that can afford only a one-word title: Young's "You," Kenny Chesney's "Reality," Dierks Bentley's "Home," Taylor Swift's "Ours," Brad Paisley's "Camouflage," Rascal Flatts's "Banjo," the Lost Trailers' "Underdog," Katie Armiger's "Scream," the Josh Abbott Band's "Touch" and Thompson Station's "Glass."

Strange.
