Taylor Swift and Viacom Music Group have partnered for the premiere of her new video, "Safe & Sound," on Monday night (Feb. 13). Swift sings the melancholy ballad with the Civil Wars. It's the first single from the highly anticipated film, The Hunger Games.
Swift and the Civil Wars each won two awards at Sunday night's (Feb. 12) Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. Swift won for best country song and best country solo performance, both for "Mean." The Civil Wars picked up Grammys for best country duo/group performance for "Barton Hollow" as well as folk album of the year for the album of the same title.
The video will debut Monday at 7:54 p.m. ET on MTV during an MTV News special, MTV First: Taylor Swift. It will also premiere simultaneously across MTV's channels in Canada, Europe, Latin America, Australia, Asia and Africa.
Meanwhile, the CMT premiere of "Safe & Sound" will take place at 8 p.m. ET, the same time the music video will debut exclusively online at MTV.com, CMT.com, VH1.com and MTV's international sites.
The following morning, VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live will feature the video in its 10 a.m. ET/PT telecast, as it goes into regular rotation across all video channels, including MTV, MTV Hits, mtvU, VH1, CMT and CMT Pure.
The event will air exclusively across MTV's channels and stream online in over 150 territories at TaylorSwift.MTV.com.
