Ke$ha's "Tik Tok" formerly held the record for selling 610,000 downloads in one week in early 2010, although that was not during the single's debut week. Meanwhile, Lady Gaga had held the record for a debut week with "Born This Way," which sold 448,000 downloads in its first tracking week in 2011, although it was available for just three days in that week. (Nielsen SoundScan's weekly tracking ends on Sunday and Swift's single went on sale on Monday evening, thus giving her more than six days to reach the figure.)
Swift comes in second on the overall tally, just behind Flo Rida's "Right Round," which sold 636,000 digital downloads in one tracking week in 2009. Swift's single is the lead release from her upcoming album, Red, due Oct. 22 on Big Machine Records.
