Dixie Chicks singer Natalie Maines has recorded a studio version of Pink Floyd's "Mother"
for the soundtrack album
West of Memphis: Voices of Justice, which will be released on Jan. 15. The film documentary
West of Memphis follows the story of three accused child murderers who were imprisoned, then exonerated after 18 years.
A longtime supporter of the cause, Maines teamed with rock star Ben Harper to produce and record the song. Harper also plays
lap steel on the recording.
