Luke Bryan, Jake Owen, Darius Rucker and Sheryl Crow will join Jennifer Nettles when she hosts CMA Country Christmas, an ABC special to be taped Nov. 8 at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena.
Trace Adkins, Kellie Pickler, Rascal Flatts, newcomer Lucy Hale and contemporary Christian singer-songwriter Michael W. Smith will also perform during the TV special scheduled to air later this year. Hale, star of ABC's Pretty Little Liars, is embarking on a country singing career after signing with Disney-owned Hollywood Records.
Best known for her work in Sugarland, Nettles has recorded a solo album as a side project and recently released "That Girl" as the first single. This marks the fourth year Nettles has hosted the special.
"It's really a joy for me to get to host CMA Country Christmas," Nettles said. "I have so much fun doing it. I love the holiday season, and for me to get to be a part of this show for the fourth year in a row is a really big honor.
"What I love about doing this gig is that it's the closest I've gotten to the old classic television variety shows. It is entertainment that everybody in the family can find fun, and I hope it's something that keeps happening for years and years and years."
Generosity, a Nashville-based nonprofit organization, will have volunteers on site during the day of the taping to collect toys which will be distributed to homeless families this holiday season. In 2012, the group collected more than 5,000 toys.
Tickets, priced at $25 and $50 plus service fees, are now on sale at the Bridgestone box office and via Ticketmaster.
