In the run up to the launch of CMT on Tour: Hunter Hayes Let's Be Crazy, the festivities continued Tuesday (Oct. 8) as Hayes celebrated the success of "I Want Crazy," the third hit from his debut album.
"It's such an honor to write with phenomenal songwriters," said Hayes as he praised co-writers Troy Verges and Lori McKenna. In reflecting on the liftoff of his career, Hayes was almost speechless.
"As I circle around back to writing again for the next record, I've been thinking about all this stuff, all those stats," CMT Hot 20 Countdown reports. "I just wanted to hide away and cry. I'm so happy about all this stuff. It's nuts!
"It's a lot to take in," he continued, "But it's exactly what I've dreamed about for a long time. You guys have made it even better than my dreams made it look, and I owe it to all of you guys and I love you for it."
The event followed Monday's platinum party celebrating shipments of 1 million copies of his self-titled album and a dress rehearsal of Hayes' CMT on Tour production.
The tour kicks off Thursday in Knoxville, Tenn., and runs through Dec. 7 in Kansas City, Mo. Ashley Monroe ("Like a Rose," "Weed Instead of Roses") will open the shows.
