Kelly Clarkson is not expecting a little bundle of joy anytime soon. I thought we'd clear that up before we begin our story, but she is looking forward to being a stepmother and eventually having a baby of her own with fiancé Brandon Blackstock.
She's just weeks away from tying the knot with Blackstock, who is Reba McEntire's stepson and also a music business manager who represents Blake Shelton. In a recent interview with CMT Radio, Clarkson revealed that children will definitely be a part of their future. Blackstock already has two daughters from a previous marriage. They adore Clarkson, and the feeling is mutual.
"They are so great," she said. "It just makes me so excited, and we totally want to have another kid."
As for Blackstock's daughters, they're gung-ho for a little sibling, as well.
"They want us to have another kid," Clarkson said. "The 12-year-old, Savannah, is like, 'I want a little sister.' She is so excited."
But before we go checking for their registry at Pottery Barn Kids, let's slow down just a minute and allow everyone to wrap their brains around the idea of parenthood for a musical superstar. Clarkson admits the concept did require some deep thinking and soul searching.
During a recent appearance on The View, she admitted she "didn't want kids for the longest time." However, she added, "When you're in love, it all changes."
And as happy as Clarkson seems these days, it appears to have all changed for the better. And it couldn't be happening to a better person.
