The stage is almost set for CMT to honor country music's finest at the fourth annual CMT Artists of the Year show tonight (Dec. 3) at 8 p.m. ET in Nashville.
Being honored for their many achievements in 2013 are Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Hunter Hayes and Tim McGraw.
But well before the show can kick off, the real work has already begun. Behind the scenes of this year's celebration are hundreds of professionals working countless hours to make every detail perfect for the show's first-ever live broadcast.
Comedian and CMT fan favorite Ron White -- who is set to host the show -- brought his signature surly personality to Monday's rehearsals in preparation for the big event.
"I think it's going to be fun, and with live television, you just never know," White told CMT Hot 20 Countdown. "Why they picked me, I don't know, but it's going to be a good time."
Helping to kick off the night in style alongside the comedian will be special guests Ron Burgundy and the cast of Anchorman 2.
"Ron Burgundy is trying to recapture his glory days," White joked. "I think it's going to be a little bit of a struggle for him. They did pass on him to host the show, but he is still participating a little bit."
Tune in Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET for another unforgettable CMT Artists of the Year celebration, and for all the latest updates on the show and this year's honorees go to CMT.com/AOTY.
