Another day, another country music rumor. The subject this time? Dustin Lynch.
I recently got wind that Lynch may have a musical collaboration in the works with budding superstar Hunter Hayes. Lynch is currently working on his next studio album, the follow-up to his self-titled debut which hit No. 1 on the country chart and spawned his first big smash with the debut single "Cowboys and Angels."
A great way to follow a killer debut is an even bigger sophomore effort with a little added star power, right? Maybe from a star like Hayes?
Before even mentioning this rumor, I wanted to make sure I checked by facts. Luckily, I recently bumped into Lynch and decided to take the opportunity to get the real story straight from the man himself. Well, sort of.
And like any smart and savvy artist knows to do, Lynch decided to play coy with me when I broke down and inquired about a possible duet.
"No, Hunter and I have become great buddies, and he's a sweet dude and he's having a lot of success and, um, you know what?" Lynch said. "We'll see."
I'll let you form your own interpretation of Lynch's comment. Only time will tell with this one because Lynch himself certainly isn't telling. And, for that, I must say I applaud him.
The suspense is part of the fun!
Lynch's latest single "Wild In Your Smile" continues to climb the charts. Follow his adventures in and out of the studio on Twitter at @dustinlynch.
