Brian Kelley, one-half of Florida Georgia Line, married Brittney Marie Cole in a surprise wedding on Monday (Dec. 16), People magazine reports. The couple, who have been dating for seven months, held the ceremony on a 32-acre property near Nashville that Kelley purchased this year.
Cole is a psychology student at the University of Georgia. She and Kelley met more than three years ago but only began dating this year.
"The first day we hung out, we just knew that it was something real," Kelley told People. "I'd never wanted to make someone my wife before. I always want her by my side."
"We just knew," Cole added. "There was this energy that we had never felt before."
There were 40 guests at the sunset wedding, including Tyler Hubbard, the other member of Florida Georgia Line, as well as the duo's band.
"The whole process has been nontraditional," Kelley told People. "There was no official proposal or exchanging of rings. We had just fallen in love, and I knew I couldn't live without her. It sounds like a terrible cheesy movie, but when you know, you know!"
"Whimsical really comes to mind when I describe it," said Cole. "It was just fun and cozy and warm."
Cole chose a short, long-sleeved dress she found on the artistic website, Etsy. She accented it with a feather headband.
"Brittney's the most beautiful woman I've ever seen," Kelley told the publication. "I always knew in my heart that if I were single, then I wanted a chance with her. She was my dream girl."
