A white Christmas would be a far cry from the holiday Keith Urban remembers as a kid in Australia, where it's currently summertime.
That may seem like a strange thought for many of us who look forward to the winter weather as a sign that it's really Christmastime. For the Urbans, weather wasn't a factor. It was still a traditional holiday morning for the singer and his family.
"I have great memories of getting up early and going jumping on your parents bed and getting them up and -- you know -- and then of course you tear open the presents and then it's done and it's like eight in the morning," he says with a laughs. "And you've got all morning now to sort of wish you had more presents to open."
And all the heat and sunshine raging Down Under this time of year also had its perks for a young Urban. It meant a trip to the beach after the excitement of Christmas morning.
"We had great family Christmases growing up. I really, really enjoyed them. Mostly we'd go to the beach because there it's summertime. So we'd load up the station wagon and head off to the beach."
I can't imagine having the option of surfing on Christmas morning, but I guess what they say is true. It doesn't matter where you celebrate, as long as you keep Christmas in your heart.
Whether it's winter snow and snuggly coats stateside or beach bodies and sunshine in Australia, here's hoping that Urban, his lovely wife Nicole Kidman and their two daughters Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret have a very happy holiday. And here's hoping you all have a merry one, too.
