Luke Bryan will perform three stadium concerts and several two-night stands at smaller venues during the second leg of his That's My Kind of Night tour. He made the announcement Tuesday morning (Jan. 14) during a press conference at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena.
The tour, which will feature Lee Brice and Cole Swindell, will include stadium shows June 21 at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, Aug. 15 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia and Aug. 31 at Soldier Field in Chicago. Dierks Bentley will be a special guest in Pittsburgh and Chicago.
"We're just so excited about announcing these stadium dates," Bryan said. "We're pretty fired up. The beauty of this career is you guys, the fans ... keep allowing my years to get better and better. This is obviously the first step in making it a pretty unbelievable year."
Bryan seems equally excited about the opportunity to play two-night engagements that will take place in Washington, D.C., Raleigh, N.C., St. Louis, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Indianapolis and Atlanta. One of the big advantages is being able to spend more time in the cities without having to hop on a tour bus for the next night's gig.
"To get to do two nights, it's fun rolling in, doing a show, going riding around the cities, eating some of the local fare," he said. "We can sit back and enjoy and be rested for a second show."
In addition to the major markets, Bryan will also be taking his Farm tour to smaller communities in 2014. The Farm tour provides college scholarships to students from rural areas.
"It gets better and better each year," he said. "We sit down and start planning our Farm tours right now. We're always looking for new farm tour spots, new hayfields and new allergies I can acquire during Farm tour. But we love it. It's such a fun part of my year. We started it five years ago, and to be talking about it six years later is amazing."
The final show of the That's My Kind of Night tour will take place at the Hollywood Bowl.
"To be in Hollywood under the lights of Los Angeles ... it's gonna be an amazing place to end the tour," he said. "It's gonna be fun to be out in L.A."
Bryan's 2013 Dirt Road Diaries tour sold more than 1.3 million tickets. All shows sold out.
He announced the first leg of his That's My Kind of Night tour last year, and tickets to all 20 shows sold out, including two performances at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The tour kicks off Thursday (Jan. 16) in Columbus, Ohio.
