Brad Paisley must have had a good time during his first cameo on ABC's hit series Nashville. He performed on the season one finale and is now set to appear again Jan. 29 in a new episode titled "It's All Wrong, but It's All Right."
Like before, not much acting required for him. He'll portray himself as he inducts Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere's character) into the Grand Ole Opry.
His wife, actress Kimberly Williams Paisley, also stars on the show as Peggy Kenter, the woman we all love to loathe as the old flame who swooped in to snag the heart and left ring finger of Mayor Teddy Conrad after he split from country queen Rayna Jaymes.
Or is Williams-Paisley still on the show? When we last left Nashville during the midseason winter finale, we knew someone's life was hanging in the balance until the show's return this week. As it turns out, it will either be hot young gun Will Lexington (played by Chris Carmack) or -- you guessed it -- Peggy.
In the teaser clips for the show's big return Wednesday night (Jan. 15), Rayna's family -- which would technically be Peggy's family now, too -- is shown wearing black in mourning.
So there may be sad times ahead on Nashville. Brad Paisley could be returning to the set without his wife. However, that may not make him nearly as uncomfortable as he felt when he watched some of her character's antics earlier in the series.
Before his first appearance on the show, Paisley talked about his reaction to watching his wife on the screen.
"It's a little odd, having Kim on there playing somebody else," he told Parade magazine. "I can't watch it. It is really good, but it's disturbing to me, too close to what I do."
Hey, he may not have to worry about that anymore. We'll all know more when we learn of Peggy's fate during this week's episode.
