The only thing that could possibly be sweeter than Martina McBride singing is Martina McBride singing the praises of Kelly Clarkson. During the ongoing Grammy festivities in Los Angeles this past weekend, McBride performed for the MusiCares Person of the Year gala honoring the legendary Carole King and told People magazine Clarkson will be one more amazing mama.
"She's really fun," McBride said. "Kelly's outgoing and very direct, and I feel like she'll be a fun mom."
Since announcing her impending little bundle of joy shortly before the holidays last year, Clarkson herself has been gushing over the joyous news and sharing each step of her pregnancy with her fans and followers. It's really precious. She and hubby Brandon Blackstock knew they wanted to expand their family, and now their dream is a reality.
And friends and fellow moms like McBride know Clarkson is more than ready for the challenge of motherhood.
"She has a really good head on her shoulders, and she's a strong person," McBride said. "I think that will be good for her and her child, as well."
And McBride should know. In addition to being one of the most treasured voices in country music, she's also one of our genre's favorite moms. She and husband John McBride have raised three beautiful daughters who are happy, healthy and completely at home in the often crazy world of show business.
And it's all because McBride was able to find and strike that elusive balance of motherhood and superstardom with style and grace over the years.
Now it's Clarkson turn to do that same when her baby girl arrives. We're sure she'll be just fine. I mean, she can't lose. She's got McBride and her mother-in-law Reba McEntire in her corner.
