Jason Aldean and Miranda Lambert set the Twitterverse ablaze Thursday (Jan. 30) with a conversation that started with an invitation to play wiffle ball on the road this summer and ended with Lambert agreeing to play at select stadiums during Aldean's Burn It Down tour.
Twitter has become the hottest place for artists to break big news these days, so the mere fact Aldean and Lambert were engaging in casual conversation together via social media is enough to make fans squeal.
Here's how the conversation started:
Aldean posed the question, "Hey y'all. We need another player for our wiffle ball games in the ballparks this summer on the #BurnItDownTour. Who's in?"
Cue Lambert to respond, "Hey @Jason_Aldean. It's been a while since I swung a bat, but I'm up to the challenge :)"
By this point, followers are likely freaking out because they know what's coming -- or at least they hope the spitfire and country-rocker might be teaming up to tour.
And then Aldean swoops in for the win with the official invitation: "@mirandalambert Hell yeah! It's a deal. Why don't you stay and play a few songs too? #BurnItDownTour"
Lambert wasn't going to say no to that. Thankfully, she didn't. She'll be joining Aldean for shows in Cleveland, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh toward the end of summer. And it will be amazing. If you've caught Aldean or Lambert on the road lately, you know these are two artists who don't simply take you on a ride in concert. They give you a total concert experience, complete with state-of-the-art staging, wailing guitars, showmanship, twang, rock and, sometimes, a little bit of pyro.
It's only fitting, right? It is the Burn It Down tour, after all.
Tyler Farr and Florida Georgia Line will also join Aldean's tour which will
