Who could say no to Blake Shelton? Pretty much nobody, and that includes The Band Perry, who have accepted his invitation to help advise the Team Blake hopefuls during the battle rounds on season six of NBC's The Voice.
The sibling trio will have to get their game faces on. If you've watched the show before, you realize things can get a little ruthless in those rounds where singers on the same team go head-to-head to vie for that coveted spot to continue their journey to stardom.
I'm happy to see Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry joining Blake this time around. In the past, he's welcomed his labelmate Sheryl Crow, close pal Kelly Clarkson, Michael Bublé and the incomparable Cher. (Shelton is a huge Cher fan.)
Of course, the question you all might be asking is where Shelton's wife Miranda Lambert fits into all this.
The answer is Team Shakira! How about that for a shakeup? Lambert will be advising the "Hips Don't Lie" singer's team this year, which ought to make for an entertaining dynamic between Shelton and Lambert on camera.
However, this reminds me of season four when Lady Antebellum's Hillary Scott assisted Adam Levine rather than advising Shelton's team. In that case, who could blame her? I'd want to be that close to Levine, too. And let's face it, she can hang with Shelton any time she wants.
Season six of The Voice premieres Feb. 24. Before their big debut on the show, The Band Perry will continue their We Are Pioneers tour with shows throughout the Midwest.
