"These are the days of gold." Yes, they are, Jake Owen. For you, they certainly are.
Remember at the beginning of this year when Owen announced his second major headlining tour during the BCS National Championship? Fans could hardly wait to see him back out on the road, and good news -- you don't have to wait much longer.
Owen's Days of Gold tour will kick off Thursday (March 20th) in Brookings, S.D. Last week, the singer gave Nashville insiders an exclusive sneak peek at the show with a tour preview at Nashville's Steel Mill.
This is a big one for Owen. It will arguably be the biggest tour he's ever done and is set to hit 55 cities during its trek. And it comes at a pivotal moment in his career where the Florida native is riding the wave with a brand new single "Beachin'."
Nowadays, it's not easy to keep momentum going, even when you are a bona fide star like Owen, but he's doing it brilliantly with this killer new project. And hey, who says once you move on from your last album it can no longer continue to work for you?
Not Owen, that's for sure. Although Days of Gold is his newest project, Barefoot Blue Jean Night is still shining. Before his tour preview last week, he was presented with a plaque commemorating the gold certification of that 2011 album --that's over 500,000 copies sold to date.
And did we mention it spawned four consecutive No.1 singles? That's "Barefoot Blue Jean Night," "Alone With You," "The One That Got Away" and "Anywhere With You."
The Cadillac Three ("The South") will join Owen on the Days of Gold tour with Parmalee, Eli Young Band and Thomas Rhett joining the lineup on select dates.
