Kenny Rogers underwent skin cancer surgery Wednesday (May 14) but plans to perform a concert this weekend in Knoxville, Tenn.
Following the surgery, the 75-year-old Country Music Hall of Fame member posted an Instagram photo showing a bandage above his right eye.
"But you should see the other guy!" Rogers wrote in the message. "Had a bit of skin cancer removed today. I recommend everyone go get checked, especially since May is National Skin Cancer Detection and Prevention Month. Don't worry, though, I'm gonna look great in Knoxville this weekend!"
Rogers will appear Saturday at Knoxville's Tennessee Theatre for the annual "Stars on Stage" fundraiser for the historic venue. His Through the Years tour continues May 23 in Northfield, Ohio, with other concerts scheduled through late October.
Known for hits such as "The Gambler," "Lucille," "Buy Me a Rose" and his duet with Dolly Parton, "Islands in the Stream," Rogers was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2013.
