Kristen Bell will resume her duties as host of the biggest party of the year on June 4 at the 2014 CMT Music Awards. The actress will try to keep its wild guests in line for the third consecutive time.
"It'll definitely be as cool as the third time I threw a house party," Bell quipped to CMT Hot 20 Countdown.
She co-hosted the awards show with Toby Keith in 2012 and Jason Aldean in 2013, but things will be different this year because Bell will be the sole host.
"You know, it's a safety net to have someone up there for sure," she admitted. "But it's also far from the hardest job in the world. I have a teleprompter and wonderful writers behind the show, and the show is always produced in such a way that it's so fun and fan-oriented that I think there's kind of no way we can go wrong. ... I think the way they're lining up the show this year and the amount of cool surprise guests and acts, I think it should be a pretty cool show."
Bell is currently starring as Jeannie Van Der Hooven in the third season of Showtime's House of Lies. Earlier this year, she reprised the title role in the film Veronica Mars and also lent her voice to Frozen, the acclaimed Disney animated feature.
Taking a break during preproduction for the CMT Music Awards, the actress admitted to being excited about heading back to Nashville for a show she says is unlike any other.
"It's a lot more fun, I think, that country music has such a storytelling aspect," she said. "It's like you're talking directly to someone, so it's like there's this extra layer of humanity. Not to sound dramatic, but it's true. I think country music is very much about the fans, and that's kind of how the show feels. It feels like a big party with a lot of friends and a lot of love."
Join the party with CMT, Bell and country's hottest acts on June 4 at 8 p.m. ET, and catch CMT Hot 20 Countdown this Saturday and Sunday (May 31-June 1) at 11 a.m. ET/PT.
