With all the flames you'd expect, Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood delivered a scorching duet of "Something Bad" at the CMT Music Awards on Wednesday night (June 4) in Nashville.

Lambert is having a banner week already. On Tuesday, she released her newest album, Platinum. She also picked up a CMT Music Award in the female video category for "Automatic," and she'll perform at LP Field on Friday night as part of the CMA Music Festival. Shortly after the performance of "Something Bad," Underwood collected the evening's top prize -- video of the year -- for the sentimental "See You Again."

Before the all-star ceremony, the stylish superstars walked the red carpet together, pausing to tell CMT's Katie Cook that an official music video is on the way. In the meantime, though, the two women dominated the CMT Music Awards stage with the powerful, ominous anthem.

Lambert has said she pitched the song to Underwood by email, even though she was incredibly nervous about asking her to sing on it. No need to worry, though. Underwood readily agreed.

In press materials for Platinum, Lambert stated, "I'm a huge fan of Carrie Underwood. She's such a badass singer. ... To me, this song meshes our styles, you know? It gives her time to be 'Before He Cheats' Carrie, and it gives me time to take off running and jump to hit some of those high notes."

Lambert's next official tour date will be June 15 in Jacksonville, Fla. Underwood is scheduled to perform at the Chippewa Valley Country Festival in Cadott, Wis., on June 27.
