You put Taylor Swift and Lorde in a room, and things are bound to happen. Creative things. Artsy things. Musical things. But never did I ever think that the two of them would be in some kitchen in Rhode Island making foodie things.
Yet there they were. At Ella's Fine Food and Drink in Westerly, Rhode Island. Making, well, something. It's hard to make out exactly what it is from Swift's Instagram picture. But you can definitely tell that they are laser focused with concentration and wearing super-official-looking black aprons, so I doubt it was something simple like Truffle Frites.
"Thank you to Chef Jeanie at Ella's Fine Food and Drink for giving us the best and only cooking lesson we've ever had! @lordemusic," Swift posted on Monday (Aug. 11) on her social networks.
It doesn't look like Lorde tweeted about the cooking class although she did post one picture. And Lorde's Instagram picture is more detailed than Swift's, so you can see the two singers might've been making tacos. "took a wonderful cooking class in rhode island alongside the already-super-good-cook, ms. taylorswift," she wrote.
The restaurant is near Swift's home on Watch Hill, and the chef's meals have been popular in Punta Gorda, Florida, for the past 10 years, according to the restaurant's website. They specialize in Asian-Fusion and French foods.
Chef Jeanie Roland is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, and hosts cooking classes to sold-out rooms. In this case, though, it looks like the maximum class size was two.
