Pumpkin Bread

For the youngest ghosts and goblins, make a little pumpkin bread. It's so easy.

4 cups plain sifted flour

2 cups sugar

2 teaspoons soda

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

1/4 teaspoon ginger

1 (16 oz.) can pumpkin

3/4 cups vegetable oil

4 eggs

1 cup water

1 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Preheat oven to 350°.

Grease and flour two (9 x 5 x 3-inch) loaf pans. Mix dry ingredients (flour, sugar, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and ginger) in a large mixing bowl. Beat pumpkin, oil, eggs and water together. Add pecans if desired. Stir mixture together. Divide batter into each pan. Bake 1 to 1 1/4 hours at 350°.
