
Hot Dish
1 1/2 pound sirloin steak
salt and pepper
1 large onion chopped fine
3 T butter
2 T flour
2 cups beef bouillon
3 T cooking sherry
2 T tomato paste
1 t dry mustard
1 cup sliced mushrooms
2/3 cup sour cream
Slice or cube beef and tenderize. Sprinkle meat with salt and pepper. Melt butter in heavy skillet; saute onions and beef; add butter if needed. Remove beef and onions to a dish. Slowly brown flour in skillet and add beef bouillon to make a smooth gravy. Add sherry, tomato paste, mustard and blend well. Return beef and onions to skillet, add mushrooms. Place in an oven proof container and cook slowly until beef is tender. Add sour cream and serve over rice or noodles.
