
Hot Dish
1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 cup water
red food coloring
3 tablespoons strawberry gelatin
1 pint fresh strawberries
Mix sugar, cornstarch and water. Add enough red food coloring to make a dark red color. Stir ingredients in a large heavy pot over medium heat until a soft pudding consistency. Remove from heat. Stir in gelatin and let cool. Place berries in a cooked pie crust. Pour mixture over berries and refrigerate for 3-4 hours. Serve with a dollop of whipped topping.
