
Hot Dish
12 ears white corn shucked, silked and washed
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup bacon drippings
2 tablespoons butter
Cut corn from ears with a sharp knife; scrape the cobs. Stir in sugar and salt. Add water. Heat bacon drippings and butter in iron skillet over medium heat. Pour corn in skillet and stir until done, about 15 minutes. Add more water if corn looks dry.
