
Hot Dish
Cool mornings call for hot tea. The aroma is tantalizing.
4 (3-inch) sticks cinnamon, broken
1 teaspoon whole cloves
½ teaspoon whole allspice
1 quart hot tea
½ cup sugar
3 cups orange juice
3 cups unsweetened pineapple juice
orange wedges for garnish
Combine first three ingredients in a tea ball or cheesecloth bag. Set aside. Combine hot tea and sugar in a large kettle. Stir in fruit juices. Add spice mixture and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes. Remove spice mixture. Garnish with orange if desired. Serve hot.
